Grind House Bar & Grill | Clearwater, FL
At first glance, The
Grind House Bar and Grill seems to be just your good old-fashioned
English pub. There are booths for romantic interludes, long tables for family gatherings, and the bar, of course, for cheering with your mates during soccer games on the telly (that’s what they call a television in England). But owner Michelle Clewer has added some features to cater to her American patrons. Sure, the menu has all those delectable English dishes –
shepherd’s pie,
Scotch eggs, and
fish and chips
, to name a few. But it also has American food, like several burger options, even quesadillas. (Specials on drinks and entrees run nearly daily). In a nice touch, the dessert choices are encased in a London telephone booth. At the Grind House, there is also a wide variety of events, whether it’s karaoke Saturday night for the exhibitionist, or a traditional roast on Sunday for the family man, with all the trimmings, including Yorkshire pudding. Everyone is welcome, including the Irish.
